Meatloaf

So long story short, a year ago I was working with Meat Loaf, yes THE Meat Loaf, on his new record. I met with him several times to discuss the vision of the record and wrote songs for the project. We had many conversations about his concept and how we could achieve it. Time went on and none of the songs I had written ended up on the project. These things happen. Fast forward to last week. Meat wants me to work with him again for the next album. We met up at Warner/Chappell (my publishing company) to catch up and talk over his vision for the new release. As he greets me, he hands me a copy of “Hang Cool Teddy Bear”, the first record we were working on. He points out  the very last entry of the “thank you” page (see attached picture). I couldn’t believe it! I mean…this is Meat Loaf! He’s a legend. I used to walk around listening to his cassette tapes as a kid. The “Bat Out Of Hell” himself giving me a shout out! I drove around for the next hour blaring and singing “I Would Do Anything For Love” as loud as I could. You think I’m kidding but I’m not. I’m not normally a show off but I just had to share this one. Too cool. Thanks Meat, you’re a classy guy.

That is awesome! I’m quite enjoying his passion on the Celebrity Apprentice.

We enjoyed seeing you at the Real Life Real Music event last week. I had never heard your music before, but I loved it and ended up buying your latest album on iTunes.

Just when you think Sean cannot be cooler….I don’t care if only 3 other people have commented on this post, you can go ahead and retire. Forget cassettes, I still have all of Meat Loaf’s stuff on my ipod. GOD BLESS SEAN LOAF!!!!
